About the club
The clubhouse is a quintessentially old English village green style building. It can comfortably cater for 50/60 people and has a licensed bar.
There are ladies and gentlemens changing rooms. The green has six bowling rinks. Free parking can be found in the nearby streets.
The club is managed and operated by its member's committee.
Newcomers to bowling are always welcome to come along and try their hand at the game. We have sets of woods (bowls) that you can practise with. Flat shoes or trainers are required to be worn on the green. If you want to experience the game contact Geoff Holmes to make arrangements 07711 611720. Coaching can also be arranged.
The outdoor bowls season runs from the end of April until the end of September. The club play in many competitive Ladies, Men's and Mixed leagues as well as a number of friendly matches against other clubs in the surrounding area. In-club competitions also take place.
Organised roll-ups take place throughout the season on Tuesday afternoons commencing at 1400 hours and Saturday mornings at 1030 hours if there are no matches scheduled. In addition, the club also run "in-house" competitions and all members are encouraged to join in. Two rookie players made finals in 2019. (no competitions took place in 2020)
There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to bowl.
The club is open to members to play bowls on any day and at any time, throughout the season too.
Our membership fee for the season 2021 (May – September) is £100. But if you’re a new bowler, you’ll get the first months membership free so you’ll only pay £80 in the first year, or less (pro-rata), if you join later in the season.
